A one-man game development studio based out of Galway City, Ireland, ENIGMA | STUDIO is the brainchild of Jamie Gavin, an artist from county Mayo.
Since 2018, Jamie has been crafting an ever-growing series of enigmatic immersive narrative psychological horror games which have garnered a devoted following of players dedicated to unravelling the secrets hidden within this sprawling interconnected story.

With the help of composer and producer Karl Barnes over at Loom Sound Studio, Jamie has carved out a niche by creating games that don’t look or sound like anything else, combining retro-futuristic art-deco cyberpunk visuals with richly textured vintage synthesizers recorded through tape.

Having had a fascination with videogames of all kinds from a young age – specifically their unique position as a distinctively personal and experiential story-telling medium – Jamie explores the boundaries of what a game story can do, directly playing with the interface between player and machine. Since releasing his first commercial game – THE ENIGMA MACHINE – in 2018, this story has grown into a rabbit-hole of existential meta-narrative, complete with hidden sequels and ARG’s which have all culminated to the long-awaited release of his 10+ hour horror odyssey – [ECHOSTASIS] – in 2024.

While the majority of his influences come from the physical world, some of his biggest media inspirations include METAL GEAR SOLID 2, ANATOMY, END OF EVANGELION and UNDERTALE, among others.
